Over time, the sun, wind, moisture, fungus, and salty air will wear on wooden windows and doors. In order to reduce maintenance on the exterior wood finish, our engineers have developed ShieldCoat™ in cooperation with our paint manufacturer. This revolutionary wood protective finish is designed to double the lifetime of the wood finish when compared to a standard paint finish. This is a real benefit especially in southern coastal areas where the combination of sun and salty air makes life tough for wooden windows and doors. ShieldCoat™ is based on a four-level electrostatic paint technology system that will not only protect windows and doors against harsh weather conditions, but also offers a beautiful and uniform surface that will last for years. The treatment is carried out in our multi-million dollar Flow-Coat facility. The units are sprinkled so that the treatment will percolate into all joints and weak spots. ShieldCoat™ is also environmentally-friendly with zero solvents used during production and also allergy-friendly. Moreover, all end-grains are sealed so that spots in danger of having rot and fungus are protected in the best possible way. The treatment also reduces the wood's ability to absorb moisture, allowing the dimensions and shape to remain stable. |
